rENOVATE grace

If you haven’t heard, Grace City bought a church building!

After several months of praying and researching various options for a new venue, we were eventually introduced to a beautiful historic (1927) church building (just down the street from where we began) on Mason and Garfield in NE Portland. And although we hadn’t set out looking to buy, it would seem that this wonderful building on Mason St. may have in fact been looking for us! In other words… Friends, we bought a home for Grace!

As you may recall, in order to purchase the building, we needed to raise about $70K in additional funds (in less than 2 months!) By God’s grace, and the generosity of everyone who gave, WE RAISED $80K!

As you may also recall however, this was/is only the beginning. In order to get this wonderful, historic, but slightly worn, building revitalized and back up to standards, we now need to take things to the next level…

Starting in January, our new goal is to raise approximately $237K by the end of 2020.

In addition to our financial goal, we also have big plans for mobilizing our volunteer capabilities. We may not all be professional carpenters or painters, but we’ve got YouTube! And we’ve got faith! Of course, some of the work will require professional skills, but there’s still a ton that we can do on a purely volunteer level.

As you prayerfully consider what the Lord is leading you to contribute towards our ongoing renovation projects, may I just say thank you in advance. Thank you for praying. Thank you for giving. Thank you for investing in the work that Jesus is doing through His church in Portland.

Because renovating a church building is about much more than just a building. It's about building for the future of our church family, for our beloved city, and for the many sons and daughters who have yet to come home!

Whether you’re able to give in the tens, thousands, or tens-of-thousands, every bit makes a difference as we all give and serve together.
