Our story
Grace City began as a small group of believers, studying and following Jesus on the campus at Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon. As they grew together, God slowly but surely added others to their fledgling community, until finally in September of 1981, Grace City Church was officially established. Since then, we have continued to grow and witness God’s faithfulness in countless ways. Both among students on the campus, as well all throughout the city, we have enjoyed a wonderful history of seeing God graciously move in and through us, bringing truth, grace and new life to people of virtually all walks of life.
Since the 80s, Grace City has planted a few more churches… In Seattle, WA (Every Nation Church Seattle), Eugene, OR (Grace City Eugene), and in September of 2016, Portland, OR (Grace City Portland) (That’s us!) In addition to the local church-plants and various student ministries we’ve had the privilege starting, Grace City also enjoys a great relationship with the larger, global family of churches to which we belong, known as Every Nation. Our connection with Every Nation is based upon both a relational bond and a missional goal, and thus has greatly allowed us to maximize our ministry impact, while providing practical covering and pastoral support as well.
Much more could be said, but those are pretty much the essentials. We’re the fruit of a Christ-centered, Spirit-empowered, socially responsible family of churches and campus ministries, who desire to see every tribe, tongue and nation reached with the gospel, for the glory of God and the good of all.
