A Grace City Family Conversation

the challenges and Beauty of becoming an ethnically diverse church community

Over the last several weeks, the cry for healing and racial justice has been heard around the world. We’ve heard the cry online, in our city, and in our church family as well. Which has led us all to wonder…

What next? What is God doing in the midst of all the animosity? And what can we do to engage in the work God has prepared for us, as we pursue reconciliation and ethnic diversity within our own church family? To start, we decided to call a family conversation!

On Thursday, July 16th, we held a roundtable discussion with a small group of diverse voices in our church family to share honestly and openly about the challenges and beauty of becoming an ethnically diverse church community.

As you listen in on our conversation, please keep in mind that what you hear (and see!) aren't some pre-scripted talking points meant to represent the general stance of Grace City Portland on matters concerning race, injustice, politics, etc. This is simply an honest and unfiltered conversation between brothers and sisters attempting to grow in truth and grace as we all look to Jesus together.
